Open Science and scientific collaboration are vital to tackle key societal challenges as they emerge. "EOSC is an ideal tool to respond to public emergencies such as the COVID-19 virus by (1) opening up scientific data on the virus, (2) sharing live on-the-ground data on the spread of the virus, and (3) accessing and combining this data not only to eradicate the virus but learn how to deal with similar viruses and future outbreaks."

EOSCsecretariat.eu has published a new overview of the EOSC, its governance and expert Working Groups. The downloadable booklet provides an overview of the strategic priorities established by the EOSC Governance, on the road to the first iteration of a Minimum Viable EOSC by the end of 2020. Learn more about the structure and responsibilities of the the EOSC Governance, the Executive Board's working groups and many EOSC-related projects funded by the European Commission.

The EOSC Executive Board Consultation Day on 18th May will also be an online event. Block your calendars between 19-20 October 2020 for the EOSC Symposium 2020 taking place in Berlin, Germany. The event brings together researchers, data scientists, e-Infrastructures, Research Infrastructures, EOSC projects, EOSC Working Group members and representatives of the EU27 Member States and associated countries to discuss the final steps towards the establishment of a first version of a fully-fledged European Open Science Cloud.
