Artur Binczewski received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Poznan University of Technology in 1993. He is the Head of Network Technology Division at the PSNC. He leads the team responsible for development and maintenance of Polish Optical Internet network – PIONIER and Poznan Metropolitan Area Network. Artur Binczewski was involved in several EC and national research projects: e.g. SEQUIN, ATRIUM, 6NET, EMANICS, FEDERICA, GEYSERS, NOVI, GN1/GN2/GN3. He also coordinated the PORTA OPTICA STUDY, PHOSPHORUS, NEWMAN, 100NET, ALIEN and FELIX projects. He is coordinating the PIONIER-LAB project based on Polish Roadmap of Research Infrastructures. He is also main Polish representative in GÉANT consortium.
His main research activities concerns the architectural aspects of Control and Management Planes in optical networks, protocols for next generation networks and advanced multimedia streaming (4K/8K and beyond digital cinemas).
