Head of the Large Scale Applications and Services Department
Tomasz Piontek (m) graduated from Poznań University of Technology in Computer Science. He is a head of the Large Scale Applications and Services Department at Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, Poland. He has been involved as a Work Package Lider or Technical Manager in many EU-funded R&D and infrastructural projects in the area of Grids as well as distributed and parallel HPC computing including QosCosGrid, Mapper, CoolEmAll, ComPat, BridgeCloud, VECMA. His research activities are focused on the modelling of advanced applications for modern hybrid HPC architectures and online services scalability and availability. Tomasz was responsible for designing, implementing and supporting many core and domain oriented services as well as access tools to HPC resources. He is an author or co-author of 40+ scientific papers in professional journals and conference proceedings.
