Diverse Perspectives on (future) Research Environments

  • By Katharina Flicker

A while ago the EOSCSecretariat partner TU Wien launched an Exploration Series to inquire on Visions, Needs and Requirements for (future) Research Environments. The objectives were to establish ways of communication that involved researchers and to collect as many perspectives as possible on research environments and the EOSC. Thus, we started out contacting Marie Curie fellows, ERC grantees and Nobel Laureates covering different scientific disciplines and career stages, all while considering geographic spread and gender balance. However, we shifted the focus to academics who became successful Science Fiction authors to increase the bandwidth of perspectives. The first interview with Computer Scientist and Science Fiction author Cory Doctorow was published this week:

The series will continue through June and is expected to include one interview publication per month. Stay tuned!
