Professional Title: Full professor in Technical Electrocatalysis Laboratory, Institute of Technical Chemistry, Technical Unversity of Braunschweig
Bio: Mehtap Oezaslan is full (W3) professor in Technical Electrocatalysis Laboratory, Institute of Technical Chemistry, Technical Unversity of Braunschweig, Germany. She studied Chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin (TUB), Germany. Her diploma thesis was awarded with the Clara-von-Simson prize in the field of Science and Engineering at the TUB. She finished her Ph. D. thesis in Technical Chemistry in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Peter Strasser in the field of electrocatalysis. Her Ph. D. thesis was selected for the Umicore Scientific Award 2014 organized by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO). In addition, she was member of the Fast Track Program of the Robert Bosch Foundation from 2012 - 2014. The Fast Track Program is offering 20 outstanding female postdocs an unrivaled opportunity to improve the skills for leadership and to exchange experiences and network with further leading scientists, politicians, business and media representatives. After a postdoctoral stay (1.5 years) at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland, in the group of Prof. Dr. Thomas Justus Schmidt, she was a junior professorship (2014 - 2019) at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. With respect to research she is specialized in the interfacial electrocatalysis combined with high-resolution in-situ and ex-situ microscopic and spectroscopic techniques.
