University of Coimbra
The University of Coimbra (UC), the oldest in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world, is also one of the best known and internationally celebrated, being a national landmark. With a history of more than seven centuries, presently UC has eight faculties, more than 40 research units and several other services that support the institution core activities – creation, critical analysis, transmission and diffusion of culture, science and technology. The university comprises three campuses, which accommodate more than 21000 students and 1500 teachers/researchers. Through research, teaching and services to community, UC contributes to the economic and social development, environmental protection, social justice and citizenship promotion and consolidation of knowledge-based sovereignty.

University of Maribor
University of Maribor is an autonomous scientific, research, and educational institution that discovers and nurtures knowledge and transfers it to the community. Steps toward our goals for implementation of open science and open access include signing and applying the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in Science and the Humanities, and establishing a national supercomputing centre through infrastructural projects, such as the HPC RIVR in collaboration with our partners IZUM and FIŠ.

The University of Tuscia (UNITUS) is a multidisciplinary italian public university that claims a prominent position among the best research and teaching centers in Italy and Europe. University of Zagreb - University Computing Centre - SRCE
SRCE - University of Zagreb University Computing Centre as the major national infrastructural ICT institution in the area of research and higher education in Croatia is providing a modern, sustainable and reliable e-infrastructure. This include national computing and storage infrastructures, data services including the national data repository, national RDA node, coordinator of national research and higher education AAI federation and providing a full range of trainings in use of e-infrastructure and digital services for Croatian academic and research community. At the same time, SRCE is active member of several pan-European e-infrastructures connecting Croatian with European Research Area.
University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest
With 2806 total number of staff and 29,556 students, UPB is an advanced research and education university.In 2015 attained a high degree of confidence, its accreditation being thus reconfirmed.Based on data recorded in the period 2016-2018, by WoS, UPB ranked first among the Romanian research institutions on the number of indexed publications. In close partnership with its 350 members DFN-Verein enables the development and provision of innovative services in the areas of connectivity, security, collaboration and mobility.
The Swedish Research Council is Sweden’s largest governmental research funding agency. It supports research and research infrastructures of the highest quality within all scientific fields.
Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad
Being established in 1976,VLIR represents the Flemish universities. It serves as a platform to facilitate interuniversity cooperation and interaction with the Government of Flanders and the federal Government of Belgium in all matters concerning the threefold mission statement of universities (education, research and services to society). VLIR is the forum where the universities debate, learn from each other, join forces and formulate shared recommendations and solutions.VLIR is a member of EUA.

VSB – Technical University of Ostrava

VSB-TUO is the fourth largest university in the Czech Republic (CZ) with a technical and economic orientation. IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is the university research institute. It is a strategic research infrastructure in CZ. It is a leading RDI centre active in the field of high-performance computing, data analysis and artificial intelligence. It operates the most powerful supercomputing systems in the CZ available internationally to research teams from academia and industry.
With about 300 employees and an annual budget of ~26 million Euros, the ZBW has been working in the fields of electronic publishing and research data management for many years. It operates the OA-repository EconStor with 200.000 digital full texts and the economics portal EconBiz in which ca. 11 million publications are listed. With five professor positions, ZBW has an internationally recognize research group in the field of Open Science.
