Professional Title: Full Professor of Philosophy, Technical University of Darmstadt
Bio: Prof. Petra Gehring is full Professor of Philosophy at the TU Darmstadt. Her scientific work focuses (among others) on the philosophy of technology, biotechnology and digital technologies, methods of digital humanities, and forms of judical and ethical normativity. From 2008 to 2013, Petra Gehring was Vice-President for Scientific Infrastructure and Interdisciplinarity and CIO at the TU Darmstadt. She is a member of the evaluation committee of the German Science Council. Since 2017 she has been chairperson of the German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructure of the Joint Science Conference (GWK). AS of since April 2020, Petra Gehring is the managing founding director of the Hessian Centre for Responsible Digitisation.
